Tidal, which develops artificial intelligence-powered solutions for fish farming, has announced the appointment of Anders Fossøy as its new general manager for Norway.

Fossøy was most recently employed as commercial director at Tidal rival Aquabyte, which produces AI-powered cage cameras and analytics.

Tidal, a spin out of Google parent company Alphabet’s moonshot factory, said where Fossøy had focused on innovative software solutions for sustainable food production at Aquabyute, providing him with extensive relevant experience to apply to Tidal on its path of growth in Norway.

Deep understanding

The company added that Fossøy will leverage his deep understanding of the Norwegian market to spearhead Tidal’s efforts to support fish farmers in their transition toward technology adoption, with increased insights enabling more informed decision making and new value creation.

“I am excited about the mission and product, and I am eager to work alongside the Tidal team on its path toward becoming a crucial partner for fish farmers as they adopt data driven decision-making and achieve fish welfare and sustainability goals. I look forward to contributing to the further development of the Norwegian market,” said Fossøy.

Tidal chief executive Rajesh Jadhav said: “Anders’ extensive experience and passion for sustainable and welfare-focused aquaculture make him an ideal fit for Tidal. We are confident that his leadership will be instrumental in accelerating our path to scale our positive impact in Norway, a key market for the aquaculture industry.”
