Aller Aqua chief Hans Erik Bylling said: “From Aller Aqua’s side, we look forward to the new close collaboration between the companies, which will give both companies better opportunities to optimise fish farming, processing, and marketing in the future.

“Very soon we will begin new investments in expanded fry facilities, as well as optimisation in the production. In addition, we want to ensure the optimum utilisation of the whole fish.”

120,000 fillets per day

Danforel has 140 employees and six aquaculture facilities. It produces 4,000 tonnes of Aquaculture Stewardship Council-certified trout annually, and 120,000 consumer-packaged warm-smoked fish fillets daily.

Aller Aqua said its initiatives will ensure Danforel will continue to be the best procurer of fish produced in Danish aquaculture farms.

Danforel director Erik Hansen continues as chief executive.
