Salmon price inches up
The spot price for salmon edged up fractionally last week but it remains way below the price in the same week last year.
According to Norwegian data provider Akvafakta the salmon price rose by 13 øre (cents) to NOK 47.99 / kg in week 7. This is a NOK 13.34 below what the price a year ago.
The average price so far is NOK 45.22 / kg, compared to NOK 71.91 at the same time in 2020.
Norway exported 28,392 tonnes of salmon in week 6, which is 32.9% more than in the same week last year.
So far this year Norway has exported 165,000 tonnes of salmon, 36.5% more than at the same time a year ago.
