Norwegian salmon price dips
After several weeks of increase, the spot price of Norwegian salmon dropped sharply last week, according to industry statistics provider Akvafakta.
The price last week (week 30) was NOK 56.57 (£4.60) per kilo, NOK 8.36/kg than the week before. Year on year, the price was NOK 11.16/kg higher than in 2020, when the week 30 price was NOK 45.41/kg.
Norway, which produces more than half of the world’s farmed salmon, exported 26,566 tonnes (round weight) last week, which is 17.2% more than in the same week in 2020.
So far this year, 763,725 tonnes have been exported, which is 12.9% more than at the same time last year.
