Salmon spot price stays in doldrums

The spot price of Norwegian salmon fell by NOK 2.37 per kilo last week (week 48) to NOK 41.77 (£3.54), according to salmon industry statistics service Akvafakta.

The price is NOK 19.35 below what it was in the same week last year.

So far this year, the average spot price is NOK 54.72 / kg. Last year it was NOK 55.92 at the same time.

Norway exported 30,428 tonnes (round weight) of salmon in week 47, 2.6% more than in the same week in 2019.

The country has so far exported 1.14 million tonnes of salmon in 2020, 0.1% less than in the same period last year.
