Salmon spot price fell 9% last week
The spot price of Norwegian salmon fell for the sixth week in a row last week, but it is still well above the price at the same time last year.
According to industry statistics provider Akvafakta, the price fell by NOK 6.96 (£0.59) per kilo, or 9%, in week 30, down to NOK 71.23/kg.
That price is NOK 14.66/kg above the same week last year.
The average salmon price so far this year is NOK 91.41/kg, compared to NOK 57.87/kg for the same period in 2021.
Export price
The export price (average price product weight free-on-board border) for fresh salmon was NOK 75.34/kg in week 30.
Norway exported 25,611 tonnes (round weight) of salmon last week, which is 3.6% less than in the same week a year ago.
So far this year, Norway has exported 721,000 tonnes of salmon, 5% less than in the same period last year.
