Salmon spot price dips back after 14-month high

Spot prices for Norwegian salmon fell back a little last week, after jumping significantly to almost NOK 74 per kilo – the highest price since March 2020 - the week before.

According to statistics provider Akvafakta, the salmon price fell by NOK 4.10 / kg in week 20, ending at NOK 69.68 (£5.90) per kilo.

That is NOK 15.08 more than the same week last year.

The average salmon price so far in 2021 is NOK 57.23 / kg, compared to NOK 62.23 at the same time a year ago.

484,000 tonnes exported

Norway exported 22,812 tonnes (round weight) of salmon in week 19, which is 0.3% less than is the same week last year.

So far this year, Norway has exported 484,000 tonnes of salmon, 19.3% more than at the same time in 2020.
