Norway salmon spot price edges back up

The spot price of Norwegian farmed salmon nudged back above NOK 100 per kilo last week.

According to seafood industry statistics provider Akvafakta, the spot price for salmon in week 21 increased by NOK 1.99 / kg to NOK 100.72 / kg (£8.50). That is NOK 39.23 / kg above the spot price in the same week in 2021.

The average spot price so far this year is NOK 90.28 / kg, compared to NOK 57.40 / kg at the same time last year.

Norway exported 21,362 tonnes (round weight) of salmon last week, which is 9.1% less than in the same week a year ago.

So far this year, Norway has exported 506,000 tonnes, 4.2% less than during the same period in 2021.
