Norway salmon price topped NOK 70 last week
The spot price of Norwegian salmon last week topped NOK 70 for only the fourth time since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to salmon industry statistics provider Akvafakta, the spot price increased in week 2 by NOK 6.24 / kg to NOK 71.56 / kg (£5.99 / kg).
That is NOK 26.51 / kg higher than the price in the same week last year.
Norway exported 25,594 tonnes (round weight) in week 2. That is 1.9% lower than the same week in 2021.
In the first two weeks of 2022, a total of 51,867 tonnes were exported, 0.3% more than in the same period last year.
