Norway salmon price stays high

The spot price of Norwegian salmon dropped slightly last week but remained above NOK 70 per kilo, according to industry statistics provider Akvafakta.

The price fell in week 4 by 84 cents to NOK 70.69 (£5.91) per kilo, which is NOK 26.71 more than the same week last year.

The average price so far this year is NOK 69.78 / kg, compared to NOK 44.21 for the same period last year when the price was in the doldrums.

Export volume

Norway exported 26,819 tonnes (round weight) of salmon in week 4, which is 5.2% lower than the volume exported in the corresponding week in 2021.

So far this year, Norway has exported 105,051 tonnes of salmon, a decrease of 1.8% compared to the same period last year.
