Feed barge Arnarborg arrives in Iceland

Arnarlax, the largest farmer and producer of quality salmon in Iceland, has taken delivery of an AC 650 Panorama barge, customised to its needs by the AKVA group.

The Arnarborg was towed from Tallin and arrived in Talknafjordur last week. AKVA has previously delivered two fish farming cage facilities to Arnarlax.

The barge is rigged for 12 feed lines and is designed to withstand rough seas.

It also has excellent feed storage capacity, which is particularly important because feed is not currently produced on Iceland and has to be shipped from either Norway or the Faeroe Islands. The large storage capacity will ensure continuous production and efficient logistics.
