Wellboat maker welcomes new boss on board

Salmon indutry wellboat builder Aas Mek. Verksted AS has announced that its new chief executive, Øyvind Heggdal, is now in place.

Heggdal comes from a position as vice president project manager in the shipbuilding group Vard Group AS.

Aas Mek. said Heggdal has extensive experience from the shipbuilding industry and knows the industry and the market well.

“It is with pleasure and great respect that I can take over the management job in the family company Aas Mek. Verksted AS,” said Heggdal. “The company has a unique position in the Norwegian shipbuilding industry and is the leading shipyard in the construction of wellboats.

“The company has a great facility in Vestnesbukta, a unique position in the wellboat market and employees with significant expertise and experience in shipbuilding. It will therefore be exciting to develop this further together with the owners and employees of the company.”
