MH takes 19k tonne hit

Marine Harvest expects its harvest volumes for 2016 to be 19,000 tonnes lower than originally forecast, due largely to biological challenges.

A report released today reveals that their production in Norway is due to dip by 19,000 tonnes, to 234,000 tonnes; and in Scotland by 2,000 tonnes, to 47,000 tonnes.

Canadian harvests are expected to remain, as predicted at 44,000 tonnes, while production is Chile is expected to by 37,000 tonnes, up by 1000 tonnes compared to earlier forecasts.

Q3

The preliminary Q3 report, issued today, shows that for the quarter, harvest volumes in Norway were 64,000 tonnes, for an EBIT/kg of €2.0; in Scotland 10,000 tonnes, for €0.60/kg; Canada 10,000 tonnes for €2.60/kg; and Chile €1.40/kg.

The complete Q3 2016 report will be released on 2 November.
